STUPOR

a short film by
Leonie Kellein

A meandering camera in an abandoned ice rink, a surface of frozen water that extends embodiment in time. The sounds of leaves rustling, birds and an ominous, buzzing silence accompany a tracking shot that drifts through the scene. “Stupor” draws a portrait of those who frequent this place and questions different points of view: danger frozen in time, moments before an action happens. Between immediacy and illusion, the audience observes “something about to happen,” shifting between the expectation of a traumatizing event and its disappointment.
